  • Dr. Cliff Redford

    Veterinarian/Owner

Featured monthly on Global TVs "The Morning Show"

I grew up always wanting to be a veterinarian and in 1998 my dream came true when I graduated from one of the world's top veterinary schools; Ontario Veterinary College. Within 18 months I purchased Wellington Veterinary Hospital and have been the owner ever since. My special interests are soft tissue surgery, advanced dental procedures, internal medicine and emergency care. I volunteer with various animal rescue groups and even work with a local wildlife rescue where I get to help care for hawks and owls, porcupines and even skunks!

On my spare time you will find me running with my Labradoodle named Thalia, learning how to play the guitar, or vacationing in the Caribbean or Europe. Typically, I spend half of my time on these vacations working with local animal rescues as I find not only can I help but I learn so much from the veterinarians abroad.

  • Dr. Shaneez Wallani

    Part Time Veterinarian

    Low Stress Handling® Silver Certified
    Certified Canine Massage Therapist

I realized my calling in life at an early age, and began working toward my goal of becoming a veterinarian when I was in elementary school. I have a BSc Honours in Biology from Trent University, and graduated from Saint George’s University with my DVM degree after completing my clinical year at Cornell University. I split my time between Wellington Veterinary Hospital and a shelter wellness clinic in Toronto, in order to help pets and pet owners who would otherwise be unable to access veterinary care. I have a special interest in preventive and holistic care and pain management, and became a Certified Canine Massage Therapist in 2019.

In my free time I enjoy reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with my pets; a former street dog or “Pothound” from Grenada, and an orange tabby who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Georgia. I'm currently working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, and am involved in a shelter transfer project to help Pothounds in need find homes in Toronto.

    Office Manager/Customer Service Representative

My journey into the animal field has been the most interesting road I have encountered thus far in my life. I have always loved and had a passion for all animals but it wasn't until my first ROTTENweiller, yes I said Rotten ;), came in to my life that I truly learned how deep of a connection humans can have with animals. I worked as a waitress/bartender while I bounced around in programs at York University undecided as to what I wanted to focus on. Three years ago one of my friends, and now co worker, offered to set me up for an interview at the clinic she worked at and I was very happy when I was hired as a receptionist.  I loved working at the clinic from the first day I was hired and continue to love it every day. I quickly accomplished my childhood dream of turning my house into the local animal shelter with my many cats, 1 dog and 2 turtles. As a personal highlight, I have also worked my way up to Office Manager and can't wait to see what lies ahead.

  • Julia Colangelo

    Head Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

It was no surprise, to those who knew me, that this was the field I ended up in. Growing up in the country, if I wasn't outside with my German Shepherd Rambo I was inside helping raise the many orphaned animals we found or playing with my cats. I have been working in animal health care for 10 years now. I started my job at Wellington in 2015 as a receptionist eventually training as a technician and then decided to go to school to become registered as a veterinary technician. I graduated in 2017 from Ridgetown College’s Veterinary Technician program and gained some experience in other aspects of the veterinary field while still maintaining my position at Wellington. I have now reached one of my professional goals of becoming Head RVT and I look forward to achieving many more of my animal related goals in the future, like owning my own rescue.

When I'm not at work you can find me cuddling my dogs (Kudi, Homie & Cookie) and cats (Harlow & Penelope), hiking with my husband, playing soccer, reading a good book or spending time with family & friends.

  • Arthur Leung

    Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Hi, I'm Arthur, one of the Registered Veterinary Technicians here. I always knew I wanted to work with animals as a child. After graduating from University of Guelph Biological Science program I continued on and worked hard to become an RVT at Seneca College. It has been such a fun and fulfilling experience. I've always been a dog person and have had Victoria, my Siberian Husky, for 10 years. However, I have brought a new little buddy into my life: Totoro! He is an adorable, one eyed cat that came from Thunder Bay, and somehow managed to purr his way into my heart.

  • Pam Barrera

    Veterinary Technician (VT)

I've had a love of animals since I was a little kid when my dad brought home my first dog, a Boxer that was bigger than I was at the time! I recognized early on that the career path that I was meant to follow would be in a field dedicated to the care of these loving extensions of our families - family pets. After earning my Bachelor of Science Honours degree from U of T, I went on to obtain my Veterinary Technician diploma at Seneca College. With over 20 years of experience from all aspects of the clinical veterinary field, and working at previous small animal and emergency hospitals in the GTA, I've been privileged to realize my early ambitions of caring for these furry family members. My current passion now is to ensure that the senior pets of our families receive compassion and comfort in their last years, and ensuring clients have the best education and resources for helping them increase the longevity of their pets' lives.

Outside of the hospital, I spend time with my high-school sweetheart husband, crazy singing and dancing little girls, and the family one eyed & deaf rescue Boston Terrier, Harriette.

  • Chelsea Barcant

    Customer Service Representative (CSR)

As an avid animal lover who grew up with dogs, hamsters, fish, and birds, I always knew that I wanted to work with animals, I just wasn't completely sure in what capacity. I did co-op as a teen at a veterinary hospital and really liked the hospital environment. I studied biology at the University of Guelph, and since graduating in 2013, I have worked in a number of different customer service positions. While working at one of these jobs, I bumped into an old friend from the veterinary hospital and she encouraged me to apply to Wellington, the rest is history! I love the people and pets I have the pleasure of working with everyday.

In my spare time, I'm a total movie buff and I love trivia. I hope to compete on (and win) an episode of Jeopardy! I currently do not have any pets, but I was lucky enough to share my life with my miniature dachshund for 15 and a half years. Hopefully we will be adding another dog to the family in the near future!

  • Linda Siem

Animal Care Attendant (ACA)/Customer Service Representative (CSR)

I have loved animals all my life, but growing up I was never allowed to have any. I attended York University and graduated with a BA in psychology with the intent of becoming a teacher, but later realized that wasn't the path for me. One day in 2015, I decided to go into a PetSmart and realized their cat adoption center was accepting volunteers! I LOVED interacting with and caring for all the cats, it was so heartwarming to see them find their forever homes plus I was able to get my animal fix! Thanks to the wonderful people I've met through there, I was introduced to Wellington who were coincidentally looking to hire a new ACA. Working at the clinic has been such a wonderful experience and I have learned so much from an amazing group of people. I discovered such a special place in my heart for special needs cats and will eventually like to start a rescue of my own one day (or maybe open a cat cafe!).

In my spare time, I still continue to volunteer with Next Chance Cat Rescue (where my two very special cats, Ham and Cheese are hanging out), spend time with my husband and friends, binge-watch various shows and movies, doing calligraphy/journaling and play video games!

  • Michelle Zeh

    Animal Care Attendant (ACA)

I don't ever remember a time in my life when I didn't have a cat or two. I may have been born with a litter of kittens but I'm not sure on that! When I was 4, my mom rescued a seagull with an injured leg and we nursed him back to health. Since then, I knew that I wanted to be around animals always!

My career took me down a different path until an injury prevented me from my work. At that point, I saw that my local PetSmart was hiring, so I applied and was hired for their Pet Care department where I learned so much! I cared for pocket pets, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and fish. I also looked after the in-house cat adoption centre. From there, I went on to a local vet clinic where I learned a lot but was not as involved in patient care as much as I would have liked. In July, I was hired by Dr. Redford and happily joined the team here at Wellington and haven't looked back! As an ACA, I help the doctors and technicians with patient care among other duties that help keep this amazing hospital clean and running efficiently. I get lots of patient contact and I'm learning so much. I hope to continue to do so for many years to come!
